With less than a month before James Cameron's "Avatar" hits theaters, producer Jon Landau told the Wall Street Journal that at least 30 minutes of the film remain incomplete.
JJ Abrams loves big sci-fi and mysteries, but apparently he also digs little toys.
Buried in a Wall Street Journal article about studios scrambling for "toyetic" (sorry, their term) properties to transform (ahem) into movies is this brief statement: J.J. Abrams, who created the TV show "Lost" and directed this summer's STAR TREK film, is in discussions to produce a movie about Japanese toy line...

JJ Abrams Developing Micronauts Film, Based on Toy Line
In an article about toys getting the big screen treatment, The Wall Street Journal mentioned that JJ Abrams (Star Trek) is in-talks to produce a movie about the Micronauts, a Japanese toy line that was recently acquired by Hasbro.
J.J. Abrams to Assemble Micronauts?
Thursday, November 5, 2009 5:52 PM | From Latino Review
A Micronauts movie? It seems like Hasbro is just throwing anything at the wall now to see what sticks.
According to the Wall Street Journal, none other than J.J. Abrams is currently in negotiations to bring the Micronauts, a sci-fi action figure line from Japan, to the big screen. Arriving in the states during the 70s, the Micronauts enjoyed popularity first as a toy and then as a comic series from Marvel over the next decade.
Though both Image Comics and Devil's Due Publishing have apparently tried to revive the comics in the years since, the toyline itself ended quietly back in 1980.
Unfortunately(?) for me, I have no knowledge of the Micronauts beyond the vague awareness of their existence. So I ask you, readers: Do you want to see a Micronauts movie? How about one helmed by J.J. Abrams?

U2 celebrates Berlin Wall fall by erecting another wall
Fans hoping to catch a glimpse of U2's free concert celebrating 20 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall tonight (Nov. 5) will have to "scale these city walls" after organizers threw up a barrier to block the view for those without tickets. The move has triggered outrage from Berliners and tourists alike, all of whom see the irony in building wall around a concert dedicated to the wall that has come down. "It's completely ridiculous that they are blocking the view," said Louis-Pierre Boily, 23, who said he came to Berlin even though he failed to get tickets. "I...
To celebrate the release of Pixar’s “Up” on DVD and Blu-ray on November 10th, eight gorgeous retro-style posters for the film have been released. Your wall space and my wall space crave them. I’m assuming these posters were also done by Eric Tan (who did these retro-style posters for “Wall-E” as well as other movies [...]

Nope, sorry, no actual photos of the article's headline... yet. But there will be eventually.
The hunky hero isn't waiting for his expected GREEN LANTERN fame to kick in -- he's already getting his work schedule filled for a while. In addition to the recently mentioned MOTORCADE, Reynolds is also going to put his smarm, charm and good looks to use in an untitled comedy from writer Allen Loeb (WALL STREET 2: MONEY...

Sane Debt-Reduction Move By Redstone; But Are There Saner Moves Still To Come?
Here's why the Wall Street Journal's Martin Peers is one of my favorite business journalists covering Big Media. He wrote today, "Sumner Redstone is true to his word. He said a year ago that he did 'not intend to sell one more share of stock in Viacom or CBS.' Wednesday he said he would sell [...]
EXCLUSIVE: Comcast Wants NBCU Deal Done & Announced In November (But Expects Regulatory Hurdles To Take Year To Clear); COO Steve Burke Will Replace Zucker "After Short Period Of Time"; Talks With Murdoch & Malone Went Nowhere
At Vivendi's October 14th board meeting, Wall Street and Hollywood are banking on the French company directors vote to sell its 20% of NBC Universal. Waiting breathlessly for that decision, which is now pretty much a foregone conclusion, are NBCU's parent company GE and Comcast, respectively the wannabe seller and buyer and asset swappers of an eventual 51%/49% partnership for the [...]
