Fans hoping to catch a glimpse of U2's free concert celebrating 20 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall tonight (Nov. 5) will have to "scale these city walls" after organizers threw up a barrier to block the view for those without tickets. The move has triggered outrage from Berliners and tourists alike, all of whom see the irony in building wall around a concert dedicated to the wall that has come down. "It's completely ridiculous that they are blocking the view," said Louis-Pierre Boily, 23, who said he came to Berlin even though he failed to get tickets. "I...
To celebrate the release of Pixar’s “Up” on DVD and Blu-ray on November 10th, eight gorgeous retro-style posters for the film have been released. Your wall space and my wall space crave them. I’m assuming these posters were also done by Eric Tan (who did these retro-style posters for “Wall-E” as well as other movies [...]

Some Other Guys On Set
Saturday, September 26, 2009 8:00 PM | From Latino Review
The Other Guys has been shooting in New York. I don't know what the deal is, but not since Nicolas Cage shot The Socerer's Apprentice has a film production continued to pop up around the borders of my personal life. The Ohter Guys shot in my friend's apartment building, another acquaintance sees Will Ferrell go to work at odd hours. Today I was downtown near the statue of the Bull associated with Wall Street and saw that The Other Guys was filming there tonight at 8PM. New York exterior shoots: you gotta love 'em. Somehow everyone shoots in Chinatown, everyone shoots in Central Park and everyone shoots Downtown towards Wall Street. I'm waiting until Oliver Stone (also shooting here now) actually gets to Wall Street with Wall Street 2. That's going to be a shit show.Anyway, Ferrell and Wahlberg play the titular guys; two desk-bound cops who get the chance to shine with two supercops when the department is plunged into disarray. Those supercops are Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Eva Mendes is the love interest.Click the two Other Guys below to be taken to photos from the production's Chinatown shoot

Gordon Gekko Speaks On Wall Street
Monday, September 14, 2009 10:21 AM | From Latino Review
Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps, the sequel to Wall Street, Oliver Stone's "greed is good" movie that won Michael Douglas an Oscar for his portrayal of Gordon Gekko, has already started filming here in the Empire State. The film focuses on Gekko's relationship to the young trader that is dating his daughter - said trader is played by Shia LaBeouf. As for the rest of the plot...someone ask Michael Douglas:"Its 22 years later," Douglas explains. "Gordon has done about eight years in jail and got out in about 2001. The picture predominantly focuses on these last couple of years on Wall Street, which nobody anticipated. We shot the first one in 1986 and it was a wild, wild colourful time. And here we have both a train crash and a larger-than-life period leading up to that train crash. Its an exciting time to make a picture about Wall Street.""Is this a softer Gekko? Eh, I cant say that. I think hes got some amends to make. (Laughs) Well see what hes up to.""Weve got Josh Brolin playing what I guess is the villain of the piece. Theres a little bit of Terence Stamp, from the first one, in there. Allan Loeb wrote a good script and when Oliver signed on he put his fingerprints all over it. I think itll be a relevant movie. Its all to do with the execution, I guess."Of course, like most "news" about Wall Street 2, most of this was extensively covered in our video script review of the film. Yeah, it's still the best all-in-one source of information out there.Unless you are actually on set. In that case, bully for you. Punch Shia in the shoulder for me and tell him I said "yo."Source: Empire

Sheen on Wall Street
Tuesday, September 8, 2009 8:14 PM | From Joblo.Com
A sequel to WALL STREET without Gordon Gekko would've been pointless, but fortunately Michael Douglas is back in WALL STREET 2: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS as the oily broker with the fondness for suspenders and hostile takeovers.
But what of his protege turned betrayer Bud Fox?
While Shia LaBeouf steps in this time as the young idealistic trader flirting with the dark side of finance, according to the NY Times, original...

Cramer and Sheen to Cameo Wall Street 2
Tuesday, September 8, 2009 2:21 PM | From Latino Review
Oh, The New York Times, if only you had been keeping up with your internet research, you wouldn't have thought that Charlie Sheen making a cameo in Wall Street 2 was nearly as interesting. As a matter of fact, if you wanted to know about Money Never Sleeps, the Wall Street sequel, you could have watched our video script review coverage and we would have told you about Sheen, Shia LaBeouf's character, Gekko's return - the works. As it is, The Times did get to talk to Oliver Stone as he wandered around Wall Street a week before he starts filming the sequel. Stone seems whimsical that things in the financial sector that never would have gotten press coverage before started getting noticed after his film. Both he and Michael Douglas (who will be returning to his Oscar winning portrayal of Gekko) say it's weird to have fresh-faced Wall Streeters tell them how the original 1987 film got them into the business. As far as cameos go, Sheen isn't the only one The New York Times is reporting:Another aspect of Wall Street that changed the financial press borrowed some of the glamour of the films subject. Jim Cramer, the hyperkinetic host of Mad Money on CNBC and a former hedge fund manager, who certainly did his part to alter the complexion of financial news, will make an appearance in the film.I wonder if that makes Jon Stewart, the Daily Show host with a long-standing mini-fued with Cramer, unhappy?Source: The New York Times
