Landis Werewolf Getting Remake Treatment?

Monday, June 29, 2009 2:49 PM | From The Moving Picture
While many feel Michael Bays Platinum Dunes is destroying the horror world with its endless remakes, The Weinstein Company has been doing its fare share too. Theyve remade John Carpenters Halloween (with a sequel set to open in August), are developing a Hellraiser update and according to Bloody Disgusting may next be turning to werewolves. The site has received a tip saying the Weinsteins have acquired the rights to the 1981 John Landis horror-comedy An American Werewolf in London, which is considered by many to be one of the best Werewolf films ever made. In the original, two American tourists in England are attacked by a werewolf that none of the locals will admit exists. It starred David Naughton, Griffin Dunne, Jenny Agutter and John Woodvine. Rick Baker earned an Oscar for his groundbreaking makeup effects. The film spawned a pseudo-sequel in 1997, An American Werewolf in Paris. It followed much of the same storyline as the 1981 film and starred Tom Everett Scott, Julie Delpy, Vince Vieluf, Phil Buckman and Julie Bowen. BD.com doesnt have any other details on the potential remake. At this point mark this as just a rumor. Read Article

Ten/Four Pictures to Deliver Order of Chaos and Lucky

Monday, June 29, 2009 5:35 AM | From Dread Central

Gil Cates Jr. and Caitlin Murney of the newly formed Ten/Four Pictures are getting ready to serve us up two films sure to whet our genre loving whistles later this year!

According to Variety the first film out of the gate will be Order of Chaos (trailer below) directed by Vince Vieluf and stars Milo Ventimiglia, Rhys Coiro, Mimi Rogers and Samantha Mathis.

Synopsis
"John Pulliti is the new all American apple pie. Almost rich, almost thirty, he never lies or cheats. When his beautiful fiancé orders him around and his ball-busting boss uses threats as motivation, John never makes a sound. Eager to do right, he is a perpetual yes man.

Rick Carlson is not. A smooth talking, coercive no man, Rick turns Johns life upside-down when he not only moves into his building, but starts working at his competitive law firm. Here, every new guy represents another obstacle on the path to partnership.

As Rick and others become more and more of a threat in Johns eyes, John becomes paranoid and obsessed with uncovering the truth about those who are intent on ruining his life. Driven by his delusions, John starts to become what he hates, and learns that in a world of no absolutes, right and wrong is just a matter of perspective."

Next up for us horror hounds will be Lucky, a dark comedy directed by Cates about a serial killer who wins the lottery. Script's penned by "Saturday Night Live" staff writer Kent Sublette; shooting is set for September. More on that one as it comes!

Chaos Poster is Wow

Monday, March 9, 2009 1:07 AM | From Joblo.Com
There's no reason why any of us should give a frog's thigh (that is the expression, right?) about a small film called ORDER OF CHAOS. Director Vince Vieluf is a veteran character actor who's done the whole "CSI thing", and stars Rhys Coiro, Milo Ventimiglia, Samantha Mathis and Mimi Rogers are all pretty meh. A plot synopsis isn't even listed on IMDB. So why on earth would I be writing about this movie?... Read More... Read Article
