Stomp The Yard 2 Gets Some Cast Members

Tuesday, November 3, 2009 3:27 AM | From Latino Review
Blackfilm.com is reporting that Collins Pennie ("Fame," "Prom Night" remakes) and Pooch Hall ("The Game" CW series) have been cast in 'Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming.' "Pennie will play Chance, an aspiring dancer from the rough side of Tallahassee, Florida. After running away from gangsters, he goes to Truth University in Atlanta, where he hopes to put his problems behind him. At college, he joins the Theta Nu Theta fraternity." Poor guy. He should just stomp yards, maybe that will help. "Hall plays Dane, Step Master of the Theta Nu Theta fraternity and a seasoned dancer-choreographer who initially regards Chance as a skilled young up-and-comer, and comes to regard him as a challenge to his authority." Oh SNAP! I detect a "tense dance off which ends in both rivals finding respect for each other" scene. Confession: I have never seen any of the dance movies that have come out these past few years, so they all pretty much run into each other in my brain. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the first "Stomp the Yard" movie featured stomping and/or yards, as well as dance offs and flips and people getting served and drumlines and Channing Tatum.Source: Blackfilm Read Article

The film is being directed by Matt Reeves, who does earn some brownie points from me for directing CLOVERFIELD and writing THE YARDS.

That is… so long as it’s not going to…
