Brad Opens Up About His Inglourious Motorcycle Moment
Wednesday, November 4, 2009 9:00 AM | From POPSUGAR
Brad Pitt arrived in Tokyo yesterday, and this morning he was up for an Inglourious Basterds press conference alongside Quentin Tarantino and costars Melanie Laurent and Julie Dreyfus. They're all there to promote the movie before its release in Japan, and the stars sat down to independently field a few questions. Brad opened up about his work in the film, as well as his recent motorcycle troubles and his plans to expand his bike collection. Here's more:
On his recent motorcycle accident: "I had a little mishap. No injuries, except my ego. I was trying to get away from some paparazzi and instead gave them a good story. It was my favorite bike, so that is really sad."
On replacing his damaged bike: "I will definitely be looking at motorcycles [while in Japan]. You've got some of the best builders right here."
On landing the role in Quentin's film: "We had heard about this script for about eight years before it came my way, so it had taken on a mythical dimension. I was doubly flattered because Quentin originally wrote the part for himself."
Brad Pitt traded in his motorcycle helmet for a familiar fedora to run errands around LA yesterday. His minor motorcycle accident over the weekend meant one of his beloved bikes had to get towed away, and apparently it also led to a break from his preferred mode of transportation. With all the family's ATV riding in France it seems like he may have a few mini daredevils on his hands, he's also certainly passed on another of his loves - hats - to his daughters Shiloh and Zahara.

Motorcycle Diaries Duo to Adapt Novel American Rust
The novel American Rust is on track to be turned into a film, and while the subject matter and tone are called "unrelentingly downbeat," reporting on the forward movement gives me hope. Because I see a cousin to films like Days of Heaven in this story of friends trying to escape both an accidental murder and their a decaying Pennsylvania town. With the writer/director duo behind The Motorcycle Diaries tackling the book, I hope the eventual film will have some of the same uncanny beauty that made the downbeat films of several decades back so great.
Variety reports that Walter Salles and Jose Rivera are attached to direct and write the script from Philipp Meyer's debut novel. Scott Stuber is producing and he's got a first-look deal with Universal, though if the book and eventual film are as downbeat as most say, I'd be surprised if Universal picked up the ...
MOTORCYCLE DIARIES Walter Salles and Jose Rivera to Adapt AMERICAN RUST
While Steven Soderbergh released his epic-that-no-one-saw, “Che”, I found 2004’s “The Motorcycle Diaries” to be an intimate and compelling of Che Guevara before he became Che Guevara. It rarely felt like an origin story and it made Guevara’s tale one of “I succeeded and you didn’t because I was me and you are you.” The [...]

Vampire Diaries has really taken me by surprise. Before I watched the first episode I thought it was going to a bad Twilight rip off. But fortunately I was wrong. Instead it is a very well written show that is very entertaining. I have liked every episode so far, but episode five was kind of weak in my opinion. Only because I’m starting to get really annoyed at some of the characters.
