Sommers says Joe 2

Tuesday, August 4, 2009 7:42 AM | From Joblo.Com
As it turns out, G.I. JOE is shaping up to NOT be the worst movie ever made, if early reviews of the film are to be believed. It’s supposed to not take itself too seriously (a definite must for the powersuit/ninja/nanobot plotline) and is reportedly just a fun, escapist experience. So with the hope that audiences agree and show up, director Stephen Sommers firmly believes there will be a sequel and just... Read More... Read Article

New To Theatres This Weekend: Fast & Furious, Adventureland, Alien Trespass

Friday, April 3, 2009 10:35 AM | From Film Junk
It's going to be tough for anyone to compete with the biggest and loudest movie opening this weekend, Fast & Furious, but does anyone actually care about the return of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker at this point? If, like me, you still haven't seen a Fast and the Furious movie (and don't care to), you should definitely check out Greg Mottola's Adventureland, which is also in wide release (albeit on a lot less screens). In select theatres we have the '50s sci-fi throwback Alien Trespass, the indie dramedy Gigantic starring Paul Dano and Zooey Deschanel, and the latest film from the makers of Half Nelson, the baseball drama Sugar. Are you planning on seeing any movies this weekend?
