Back in June of this year the first trailer appeared for Shutter Island, Martin Scorsese’s latest collaboration with favorite leading man, Leonardo DiCaprio. It was creepy-as-hell and solidified it on my list of most anticipated movies of 2009. Unfortunately a couple of months later news hit that Paramount had moved the release date from October [...]
New Shutter Island trailer arrives
Wednesday, October 28, 2009 11:07 AM | From Total Film
Fresh on the internet this afternoon is the third trailer for Scorcese's Shutter Island – and although it’s a little shorter, it certainly packs the punch of the previous offerings.
The film follows U.S. Marshals Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo) who are drafted in to Shutter Island - home of Ashecliffe Hospital for the Criminally Insane - to find an escaped patient in the Summer of 1954.
In this latest teaser we're treated to some new shots of Leo as he embarks on his investigation to find the missing inmate, and ends with another inmate delivering a chilling message…
While this trailer contains many scenes featured in previous promos, it does give us some hints as to the goings on in the asylum, again alluding to a dark secret which only the staff know about…
Shutter Island comes out in February 2010 and this latest trailer has certainly whet our appetites.
Excited for Shutter Island? Or is this leaving you criminally insane? Let us know in the comments.
New Shutter Island Trailer Cranks Up The Spooky Factor
Wednesday, October 28, 2009 11:00 AM | From Cinema Blend
Cutting a trailer specifically for the crowd at the 2009 Scream Awards, the makers of Shutter Island have done a good job of convincing me to be very, very afraid of this movie. Spike TV posted the whole thing, and we also have it embedded below. It's pretty much the same formula of the trailers we've seen before-- Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo arrive at the mental hospital for the criminally insane, and shit starts to go awry in short order, ...
New Shutter Island Trailer Is Creeeeepy
Wednesday, October 28, 2009 10:49 AM | From Latino Review
Spike, home to only two shows, CSI and the UFC, have the brand new trailer for the upcoming Martin Scorsese movie Shutter Island starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jackie Earl Haley, Mark Ruffalo and Ben Kingsley. (I'm not in England, so you're just Ben over here, pal.)
From Oscar®-winning director Martin Scorsese, "Shutter Island" is the story of two U.S. marshalls, Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo), who are summoned to a remote and barren island off the cost of Massachusetts to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from the island's fortress-like hospital for the criminally insane.
I've never read the book this is based off of, so I have no idea if this story is more supernatural than it is crime thriller. But it looks pretty good, and is there a role that Jackie Earle Haley has done that doesn't make you feel as if you need a shower afterwards?
Check out the trailer below.

Shutter Island Movie Trailer #3: Now With More Pulp!
No, this new Shutter Island trailer doesn't feature Jarvis Cocker. What it does do is recut much of the footage we've already seen with a bit of new stuff, and the overall effect is: "hey, remember me? Haven't come out yet! See you in February."
What this trailer does have, and really the reason I'm posting it, is a real deep spirit of lurid pulp appeal. I've been interested in seeing Shutter Island precisely because of what I'm seeing highlighted in this clip. The movie has always seemed like it would be Martin Scorsese bringing his particular brand of respectability to a very down and dirty story. In the hands of anyone else, this movie would probably look like one to catch on late night cable at best. But Scorsese changes the equation without changing the nature of the movie -- that is, it still could be dirty and lurid, but ...
Every once in awhile, probably about twice a year, I will refuse to watch the trailer for an upcoming film. It’s something I’ve only started doing in the past, few years. I want to walk into the film not having seen any footage from it beforehand. I did it with KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL. I then did it with QUANTUM OF SOLACE. Needless to say, this isn’t going well for me, and I’m hoping I can make it 1 for 3 with SHUTTER ISLAND.
Today, we bring you a new trailer for Scorsese’s next film, newer than the trailer running…

2nd SHUTTER ISLAND Trailer
Wednesday, October 28, 2009 4:21 AM | From Collider
SPIKE TV has premiered a 2nd trailer for director Martin Scorsese’s “Shutter Island”. Unfortunately, the new trailer is more or less the same as the first one, except it’s 45 seconds shorter and it’s missing some of the dialogue. Of course there are a few new shots mixed in, but if you were hoping to [...]

Shutter Island Theatrical Trailer
Monday, October 5, 2009 11:28 AM | From Screen Rant
A second trailer for Martin Scorsese’s adaptation of Shutter Island hit the Web a few days ago and we thought you’d like a (belated) look at it. If you haven’t heard, the film is adapted from the Dennis Lehane (Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone) novel and stars Leonardo DiCaprio as U.S. Marshall Teddy Daniels, who [...]
