Chevy Chase and Beverly DAngelo Reunite For Another Vacation

Thursday, November 19, 2009 9:20 PM | From /Film
Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo will be reprising their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold from the National Lampoon's Vacation movies, but not for another big screen sequel (not yet, at least...). You might recall that last month we told you that New Line/Warner Bros had signed Wedding Crashers and Fred Claus director David Dobkin to produce and possibly direct a new film in the National Lampoon's Vacation series which would follow Rusty Griswold, the son of Clark Griswold, who is now a father in his own right and takes his family on a, you guessed it, road trip vacation. Although New Line/WB hopes to sign Chase and DAngelo to return as grandparents in the new film, no deals are in place. So if not the big screen, when, where and why? Details after the jump. The Griswolds will be reuniting insead for an advertising campaign to be launched during the 2010 ... Read Article

Chevy Chase Will Bring Back Clark Griswold

Thursday, November 19, 2009 5:28 PM | From Latino Review
But, not in a new "Vacation" movie.Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo will resurrect their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold in a new ad campaign to be launched during the Feb. 7 2010 Superbowl. The advertised service in the homage to the 1983 original (about a madcap American roadtrip)? HomeAway vacation rentals, naturally!"To this day, people ask me, 'When is the next Vacation movie?" says Chase, currently starring in NBC's Community. "So I'm sure everyone will get a kick out of seeing the Griswolds and their misadventures once again."Adds D'Angelo: "Clark and Ellen have one of the most enduring marriages ever to come out of Hollywood. I am thrilled that HomeAway is reuniting Chevy and me."Man, I love "Christmas Vacation." I watch it every Christmas no matter what. It's just one of those movies that is consistently funny from start to finish. So, going with that, a part of me wouldn't mind seeing another "Vacation" movie. But, then I remember that there WAS another one, called "Vegas Vacation," which couldn't be less funny if it tried. So, it's probably better to leave this alone. Oh yeah, and didn't Randy Quaid make a direct to DVD "Christmas Vacation" sequel, playing his Cousin Eddie character? Christ...yeah, DEFINITELY leave this one alone.Side note: Chase is pretty funny on "Community" though. Might wanna check that out sometime, it's a decent show.Source: US Magazine Read Article

Iron Man 2 Movie Trailer For Christmas?

Thursday, November 19, 2009 12:12 PM | From /Film
Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau retweeted the following message on his twitter account, leading us to believe that we can expect the first trailer for Iron Man 2 attached to Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes, which hits theaters on Christmas Day. RT @Ann_Howard: @Jon_Favreau PLEASE tell us the trailer is coming soon - w/Sherlock Holmes, perhaps?? I had assumed that Marvel would have wanted to release the trailer with James Cameron's Avatar on December 18th, but it makes sense to attach the teaser to another film starring Robert Downey Jr. But I'm sure the trailer will also premiere online days before the Christmas holiday. New Line Cinema to develop Vacation sequel.

Thursday, November 19, 2009 11:48 AM | From MovieJungle

New Line Cinema will develop a sequel of sorts to the 1983 comedy "Vacation." Also known as "National Lampoon's Vacation," the original film starred Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo as the Griswold parents who, thanks largely to Clark (Chase), always have some sort of botched holiday filled with memorable laughs.

Follow-ups to "Vacation" included "European Vacation" and "Christmas Vacation."

New Line is meeting with writers but the take is already worked. The story focuses on the son of Clark who is now a father and takes his own family on a road trip vacation.

This stinks like a flop already and something Sony would have invested in considering their murdering of the "Pink Panther" series of films.

Rumor: Zemeckis Following Christmas Carol with The Nutcracker

Wednesday, November 11, 2009 7:24 PM | From FirstShowing.net
Robert Zemeckis' latest CGI feature, A Christmas Carol, is currently playing and seems to be bringing in the cash, as expected. Whereas Zemeckis used to be an amazing filmmaker, he's now become our bi-yearly deliverer of a fantastical 3D CGI version of some beloved holiday story. First it was The Polar Express, this year it's A Christmas Carol, so what's up next after that? Pajiba claims that Zemeckis will eventually be adapting The Nutcracker as well, but it's not clear if that'll come before or after he remakes The Beatles' Yellow Submarine. Whatever the case, I'm not excited, despite my love for these wonderful holiday stories. They also say that similar to A Christmas Carol (which was a direct adaptation of Charles Dickens' novel), Zemeckis' Nutcracker won't be an adaptation of the Tchaikovsky ballet, but rather an adaptation of E.T.A. Hoffmann's original 1816 novel, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, remaining ... Read Article
