David Koepp Directing Bike Messenger Movie Premium Rush

David Koepp, who's probably better known as a screenwriter than a director, has set up his next directing project at Sony. Koepp will helm Premium Rush, a bike messenger action movie, being produced by Gavin Polone (who last worked on Zombieland). The story centers on a New York bike messenger who picks up an envelope at Columbia University to deliver. A dirty cop is desperate to get his hands on the envelope as well, and chases the bike messenger throughout the city. The screenplay was written by Koepp and his frequent collaborator John Kamps. David Koepp is best known as one of Hollywood's highest paid screenwriters (and one of Spielberg's scribes). His screenwriting credits include everything from Toy Soldiers, Jurassic Park, and Carlito's Way, to Panic Room, Spider-Man, War of the Worlds and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. For the last decade he's been trying to make the transition into feature film directing. LucasFilm has teamed with Sideshow Collectibles to release a special edition 12 inch Indiana Jones figure that comes complete with a refrigerator made from polystone and metal. That's right, the figure and fridge recreate the infamous opening sequence from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which even spawned an internet slang word ("nuke the fridge"). The product was a limited edition of only 600, available in the first quarter of 2010 for $174.99, but has already sold out. Indiana Jones 5 Script Includes Sean Connery

Back when "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" was being written, George Lucas revealed that the script had Indy's father in it, which meant that Sean Connery would need to reprise his role. Unfortunately, Connery refused and the script was quickly re-written.

Harrison Ford Confirms Indiana Jones 5 Having Found Its Plot

Indiana Jones himself, Harrison Ford, can now confirm what young Jones Shia Lebeef let out of the bag a while ago while promoting Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: Indiana Jones 5 has its plot. Ford, Spielberg and Lucas have all come to an agreement regarding what the movie should concern, the basic layout if you will, and the story is currently taking shape. I guess this is bad news for all the Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull haters out there and good news for the rest of us. I, for one, am excited at least. I know, I know, Indy 4 had a few minor mistakes and some major ones too, but weird aliens aside I still found it to be in spirit of the classic 3 while being updated for today's young audience. I can only imagine that the fifth will however be the last film in the franchise, or at least the last with Ford in the lead, as he really is getting older and it was more than hinted in the fourth that he was passing on his hat to LaBeouf. So my guess is that this fifth film will see old Indy training up young Indy for him to fully take the reigns in the sixth film, having old Indy interact with him sort of like Sean Connery did in the third film.
