One of them is the starring role in the indie film The Best and the Brightest and the other is a supporting role in CBS Films' horror drama Beastly. Harris was last seen on the big screen in Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay last year and also appeared in Joss Whedon's "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog." NPH will shoot both while on his summer hiatus from "How I Met Your Mother" with The Best and the Brightest coming first. He'll also probably show up in the next Harold & Kumar sequel. White Castle Team Behind Fighting Grandmas

Wednesday, March 4, 2009 10:49 PM | From The Moving Picture
Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, the writing team behind Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle and its sequel, have sold their original comedy screenplay, Grandma vs. Grandma, to Paramount Pictures. The script follows two 60-ish grandmothers who aggressively compete against each other for the affections of their grandchildren while the parents are out of town. Doug Wick (RV) and Lucy Fisher are producing through their Red Wagon shingle and the flick is intended to play more as a family comedy in the PG-13 range rather than the R rated Harold & Kumar series. Hurwitz and Schlossberg also have their screenplay Til Beth Do Us Part, which they are attached to direct, in development at Warner Bros. They're also working on the script for Harold & Kumar 3 for Mandate and New Line. The two made their directorial debut with Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay, but its unclear if theyll direct Grandma. Read Article

MADEA GOES TO JAIL … After ErnestIt usually takes a comedic franchise a few outings to warm to up a going to jail installment. Will Ferrell To Play George W. Bush in One-Man Broadway Show

Sunday, January 18, 2009 3:00 PM | From /Film

Over the past eight years, we’ve seen that there are essentially two types of George W. Bush impressions: Those that are skillfully layered (e.g. Josh Brolin’s in W.) and those that venture deep into caricature (e.g. James Adomian in Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. Side note: Check out the range in Adomian’s filmography). Of the two, I’d say that Will Ferrell’s George W. Bush probably verges more towards the latter than the former, although I’d be lying if I said his Bush had never wrung a few hearty laughs out of me.

Apparently, Ferrell thinks his Bush impression has potential as well. Ferrell will soon star in “You’re Welcome America,” a 75-minute one-man show which will feature Ferrell playing George W. Bush reminiscing about and defending his administration. Ferrell described his motivation for wanting to bring back one of his best-known impressions for one last run:

Friday, January 9, 2009 11:07 AM | From Spout Blog
At the cinema, 2008 was the year when it was hip to depart from the moral outrage any conscientious individual might feel about our countries on going illegal and immoral war 6,000 miles away. Light satire, be it of the buddy (Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay) or five minutes in the future, things [...] Read Article
