A comic book about a pissed off zombie Jesus returning to devour the flesh of sinners... No, this won't offend anyone. Prince of Pieces is a comic book currently in development and perhaps the most shocking thing of all is knowing Brian Pulido is in no way involved.
Prince of Pieces is the creation of Sam Miserendino, who promises it's all meant to be in the holy spirit of gory fun with a little pointed commentary thrown in. The Son of God returns and he's mad as hell. Jesus disposes of sinners great and small with biblical flair (reverse leprosy, swarming gnats, and turning them into pillars of salt, just to name a few). And like all who return from the dead, Jesus has acquired a taste for human flesh. As one character wryly observes, "For two-thousand years you've been eating His flesh and drinking His blood... Now it's His turn."
Not only is the comic book in the works, so is a film version of Prince of Pieces with Dead Kennedys' frontman Jello Biafra attached to star.
Fangoria has more details on the creation of the comic including some character sketches of angry zombie Jesus and others.

With 12 nominations, Jack Nicholson has had more Academy Awards nods than any other male performer in history. He ties for the most acting nominations period with Katherine Hepburn and only Meryl Streep has more with 14. His nomination for his performance in Bob Rafelson’s ‘Five Easy Pieces’ wasn’t Nicholson’s first nomination, either. That came from his supporting role in ‘Easy Rider,’ but it was his turn as Bobby Dupea, a man born with flawless musical talents but not the desire to make it his passion in life, that made the world stand up and take notice of Nicholson as…
Samuel Goldwyn Films has picked up U.S. distribution rights to the drama "American Violet" which Tim Disney helms.
Written by Bill Haney ("The Price of Sugar"), the film is based on true events and tells of a mother in Texas who's mistakenly swept up during a drug raid.
Alfre Woodard and newcomer Nicole Beharie star. Also in the cast are Tim Blake Nelson, Michael O'Keefe and Charles S. Dutton. This is apparently due for release by Samuel Goldwyn Films in March next year.
The studio has a strong reputation with some indie gems on offer, the most recent including "Trumbo," "2 Days in Paris," "Fugitive Pieces," "Goya's Ghosts" and the recent box office surprise "Fireproof" starring Kirk Cameron which is still enjoying the fruits of its labor.
This evening the TotalFilm.com DVD club will be watching the Harrison Ford chase movie The Fugitive, with a movie stealing performance by Tommy Lee Jones.
Such a well-loved programme deserved a movie adaptation that could do the concept justice. Enter Harrison Ford as Richard Kimble, pursued by Marshal Sam Gerard in the role that made Tommy Lee Jones a household name.

He steals the show with an Oscar-winning performance that’s become part of cinema history and spawned US Marshals – another successful flick based around his character.
We’ll be watching it live on Twitter from 8pm (GMT). To join in, start the movie at precisely 8pm and follow @tfdvdclub for our updates.
