Bruckheimer Pilot Coming To NBC

Saturday, September 12, 2009 12:14 PM | From Screen Rant
NBC has picked up an unnamed pilot from Jerry Bruckheimer that is toted as an action procedural series.  (Hmm, sounding like a cop show.) A generic outline to the pilot says it’s a about a team that is charged with the responsibilities of making sure fugitive criminals don’t evade justice. That sounds like Dog the Bounty Hunter [...] Read Article

Zombie Jesus Comic Book Prince of Pieces Soon to be Risen

Tuesday, September 8, 2009 2:49 AM | From Dread Central

Zombie Jesus Comic Book Prince of Pieces Soon to be RisenA comic book about a pissed off zombie Jesus returning to devour the flesh of sinners... No, this won't offend anyone. Prince of Pieces is a comic book currently in development and perhaps the most shocking thing of all is knowing Brian Pulido is in no way involved.

Prince of Pieces is the creation of Sam Miserendino, who promises it's all meant to be in the holy spirit of gory fun with a little pointed commentary thrown in. The Son of God returns and he's mad as hell. Jesus disposes of sinners great and small with biblical flair (reverse leprosy, swarming gnats, and turning them into pillars of salt, just to name a few). And like all who return from the dead, Jesus has acquired a taste for human flesh. As one character wryly observes, "For two-thousand years you've been eating His flesh and drinking His blood... Now it's His turn."

Not only is the comic book in the works, so is a film version of Prince of Pieces with Dead Kennedys' frontman Jello Biafra attached to star.

Fangoria has more details on the creation of the comic including some character sketches of angry zombie Jesus and others.

That sound you just heard was William Donahue's head exploding.

Supernatural: Some Season 5 Story Points

Thursday, September 3, 2009 1:35 AM | From Screen Rant
Eric Kripke says that we’re going to be seeing few of what I would call heavy hitters in the upcoming 5th season of Supernatural. God will be intervening, but probably not until the end of the season. Castiel (Misha Collins) will be a hunted fugitive, as far as Heaven is concerned and as time goes on, his [...] Read Article

Throwback Thursday: Five Easy Pieces

Thursday, August 6, 2009 8:21 AM | From We Are Movie Geeks

five easy pieces

With 12 nominations, Jack Nicholson has had more Academy Awards nods than any other male performer in history.  He ties for the most acting nominations period with Katherine Hepburn and only Meryl Streep has more with 14.  His nomination for his performance in Bob Rafelson’s ‘Five Easy Pieces’ wasn’t Nicholson’s first nomination, either.  That came from his supporting role in ‘Easy Rider,’ but it was his turn as Bobby Dupea, a man born with flawless musical talents but not the desire to make it his passion in life, that made the world stand up and take notice of Nicholson as…

Thursday, July 2, 2009 5:07 PM | From HitFix
While it's well-known that Michael Jackson was working on a new album within the last couple of years, it seems the King Of Pop hoped to tackle some jazz and classical as well. Jackson had been writing with Akon and songwriter Claude Kelly for a pop-leaning set, but was also in contact with composer David Michael Frank, according to Billboard, for classical instrumental pieces he had in mind. "He had two demos of two pieces he'd written, but they weren't complete," Frank said. "For one of them, he had a whole section of it done in his head. He had not recorded... Read Article

Might We See More Saw Movies Beyond Just Saw VIII?

Monday, June 8, 2009 2:07 AM | From FirstShowing.net
Due out in October is Saw VI, the latest installment in the horror franchise that began back in 2004. Not everyone is excited to see this continue, but as long it keeps making money (which it definitely does), Lionsgate will keep making them. The rumor going around is that Saw 8 (aka Saw VIII) is supposed to be the grand finale, but who knows what could happen. Bloody Disgusting caught up with Jigsaw himself, Tobin Bell, at E3 recently and asked him if he had heard the rumors. "Yes, I have," he says, before adding: "Final is a relative word. Especially in entertainment." Could we eventually see Saw 9 or even Saw 10? They asked Bell if Saw 8 is indeed supposed to be the "final" chapter. "Yeah... I look forward to filling out the other pieces of the puzzle. There's some pieces that people still haven't seen." Any idea what ... Read Article

Thursday, May 7, 2009 6:49 AM | From We Are Movie Geeks
One of the first things I recall about having seen ‘The Fugitive’ for the first time was how strange it was to see Harrison Ford with a full beard. Aside from that, he gave an ... Read Article
