The Best Look so far at Jackie Earl Haley as Freddy Krueger!
Tuesday, November 24, 2009 8:40 PM | From GeekTyrant
Here is the clearest look we’ve gotten at Jackie Earl Haley as Freddy Krueger in Platinum Dunes remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. Below is the Freddy figure from NECA’s recently re-acquired New Line horror line, which includes the new Freddy, as well as the original Freddy to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the Elm Street [...]
First Good Look at the New Freddy Krueger - NECA Takes Us to Elm Street and Clashes with Titans
Tuesday, November 24, 2009 6:28 PM | From Dread Central
It seems like only yesterday Mezco unveiled its Clash of the Titans and A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) offerings to the denizens of the toy kingdoms. Now NECA take center stage to show off its 7-inch action figures from both lines.
This is the first time we are hearing that NECA has Clash, and we realize it's a little anticlimactic, but it seems toy companies just don't announce things like they used to. Oh well.
This is just the first version of Perseus, so expect at least one more version. Maybe holding the head of Medusa? If we know NECA as well as we think, it's a safe bet.
Meanwhile, we've also got two versions of the Freddy Krueger 7-inch action figure based on his look in the upcoming remake. How and when these figures will be released is unknown right now.
Without further fanfare, here are the goods!
In addition, NECA recently reported to Figures.com that a classic A Nightmare on Elm Street Freddy will be on the way for the 25th anniversary. We've also got a chance at a classic Michael Myers and another stab (pun intended) at Jason since they've got the rights back. Tons more will be revealed this February at Toy Fair!
Ever since Platinum Dunes released a teaser image for their remake A Nightmare on Elm Street was released, horror fans have been trying to get a better glimpse of Jackie Earle Haley in the burn-victim make-up. The teaser trailer offered a bit more, as did some of the toys (although they were more cartoonish in appearance).
This new photo, released in a Figures.com interview with NECA's Randy Falk, shows a highly detailed figure that NECA is producing in conjunction with the release of the new movie. While it is just a figure, it does give you a much better look at what we can expect from the new Freddy. Full image after the jump.

The pic below displays the backside of Jason rockin' an axe, with a front side tease of his machete. That's it. No other details are revealed.
Jason Lee takes on directing duties for GET BACK

Jason Lee has made a pretty decent career out of ...
Hack/Slash writer
Monday, November 16, 2009 4:52 PM | From Joblo.Com
HACK/SLASH is a movie where the entire pitch can be conveyed through one picture, which I've posted to the right. If you needed more of an explanation than that, it's about a girl named Cassie Hack who prances around in comically short skirts, killing those she deems “Slashers,” individuals with the overwhelming need to kill, a-la-your typical Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers-type baddies....

Eek! A First Look at the New Freddy Krueger Toys
Thursday, November 5, 2009 8:12 PM | From Cinematical
Horror fans will be slipping back into a new Nightmare on Elm Street on April 30th, 2010, but we're already being teased with new Freddy Krueger toys, thanks to Entertainment Earth and Mezco Toyz. You can buy a little Freddy of your own in plastic or vinyl next April just in time for Jackie Earle Haley's debut as the mutilated monster who haunts our dreams.
The first question I had when I saw the plastic toy was, why does he look like those little dolls with dried apple heads that are sold at craft fairs by sweet grandmas? But thanks to a wily blogger over at Albotas and the wonders of Photoshop, you can see that Earle Haley's Freddy definitely looks more like this toy than Robert Englund's Freddy.
I'm not sure which I prefer -- the menacing creep with a big smile or the flat-faced, expressionless killer. An early review from a test screening posted at Ain't It Cool News praises Earle Haley for his performance (although not much else in the movie), but will old fans be won over too?
Either one is sure to give me, well, nightmares. It's too bad that Johnny Depp won't be there this time around.
Do you collect movie toys? And, more importantly, do you leave them in the box or take them out?
Check out a larger version of the toy after the jump.

As always seems to be the case, if you want spoilers on the hottest movies today, you need to have your eyes on the world of plastic!
Mezco may have lost the New Line House of Horrors license to NECA, but it seems they'll be dishing out some A Nightmare on Elm Street goodness alongside the new film anyway. Your Living Dead Dolls and Mez-Itz collections are about to get some new fiends! The new Freddy Krueger Living Dead Doll is due out March of 2010. Although we don't have a release date for the Mez-Itz 6-inch figure, we suspect it will drop around the same time.
As a bonus, we've also uncovered a Perseus Mez-Itz figure from the new Clash of the Titans film! Does this mean we'll be getting new Clash of the Titans action figures??!! Seems a no-brainer, but whether we'll get them at all and whom they will come from remains a mystery ... at least for now.
