It wasn't until I started writing about movies online that I found a shared love with Fight Club, but it actually seems like every single movie blogger running a movie news driven website has a special relationship with this film. As a matter of fact, I thought I loved this movie, but now realize I [...]
The Movie Club Podcast #15: A.I. and Prince of Darkness
Friday, November 20, 2009 2:52 PM | From Film Junk
The Movie Club Podcast [1] is a monthly roundtable podcast where we select two movies to dissect, analyze and discuss with a group of fellow movie bloggers and film fans.
After four long months of scheduling difficulties, Jay and I finally managed to sit down with Kurt and Andrew from Row Three [2] to record the latest episode of The Movie Club Podcast. This time around, we engage in a pretty lengthy discussion about Steven Spielberg's A.I.: Artificial Intelligence and John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness, two movies that aren't really related in any way, aside from the fact that they're both a lot of fun to talk about!
In order to listen, head over to The Movie Club Podcast website (linked below) to grab the MP3, or simply update your feed in iTunes. Don't forget to join in the conversation by leaving your thoughts in the comments over there, and also cast a vote for other movies to feature an upcoming episode. The next episode will be Walter Hill's The Warriors and Martin Scorsese's After Hours.

Stanley Tucci cast in Burlesque
Thursday, November 19, 2009 11:48 AM | From MovieJungle
Stanley Tucci will star alongside Cher and Christina Aguilera in Screen Gems' "Burlesque," the musical which Steve Antin is helming.
Antin wrote the screenplay which Susannah Grant ("Charlotte's Web," "Erin Brokovich") revised.
Producing is Donald De Line via his De Line Pictures company and production stars on November 9th. Plan is to release the film on Thanksgiving next year.
Aguilera plays an ambitious girl from a small town with a big voice who gains success in a neo-burlesque club reminiscent of the club in "Cabaret."
Tucci will have the part of the manager of the Sunset Boulevard club who is also the best friend and confidante of former dancer Tess (played by Cher), who takes the young girl under her wing.
This is Cher's first movie starring role in ten years.

Exclusive Interview With Ren Klyce, Sound Designer of Fight Club and Where the Wild Things Are
This week, the Fight Club starts again with the release on Blu-ray of a tenth anniversary edition of David Fincher's fan favourite. Every frame of the film was scrutinised by the director, or so it says here, in order to ensure the transfer was reflective, finally, of the ideal realisation of the film. That sentence alone has probably shifted a skip full of copies. What's likely to shift a heap more are the innovative interactive special features.
After the break you can view my interview with Ren Klyce, the film's sound designer. As well as collaborating with Fincher since Se7en, he most recently earned the credits of supervising sound editor and sound re-recording mixer on Spike Jonze' Where the Wild Things Are. He's just the man to be out there plugging this new Fight Club disc too, as the best of the new special features revolves around his work in the ...
FREE Midnight Screening for the 10th Anniversary and Blu-ray Release of FIGHT CLUB
Thursday, November 12, 2009 2:52 PM | From Collider
Talk about Fight Club. Without people talking about the 1999 film, it would’ve fallen into obscurity instead of being one of the most celebrated films of the last twenty years. People still talk about it, people still misunderstand it (if you tried to start a real fight club, you’re one of those people), people quote [...]
New Kick-Ass poster
Wednesday, November 11, 2009 3:12 PM | From Joblo.Com
There's been a lot of KICK-ASS goods the past couple of days.
After watching the teaser, it's definitely got a top spot on my must see list for 2010. Today's goody is a poster of Dave Lizewski played by Aaron Johnson. This same image was partially shown in the teaser. Dave shoots us his badass face even though it got the shit kicked out of it. I like it, it's got that FIGHT CLUB for preteens thing going for it....
