REVIEW: 2012

Sunday, November 15, 2009 11:36 AM | From HorrorMovies.ca

Yes i saw this today and before anyone accuses me of spoiling,  pretty much all I say has been on all the Internet trailers in some form of another...

This movie stars John Cusack as the failed writer and failed father that is in essence the hero of the movie, Amanda Peet as his ex wife , Chiwetel Ejiofor as the scientist that discovers it all and Woody Harrelson as a crazy man out in the woods that trys to deliver the news to the public threw radio broadcast ( he has a mini station in his trailer kinda like the dude in Eight Legged Freaks).

The movie starts out in 2009 as a giant explosion on the surface of the sun. Adrian Helmsley (Chiwetel Ejiofor) visits a copper mine in India , supposedly one of the deepest mines/tunnels on the planet and discovers the earths core is heating at an exponential rate, causing the earths crust to eventually move and cause world wide havoc and destruction as well as causing a polar shift.

Jackson Curtis (John Cusack) finds out about the pending doom on a camping trip in Yellowstone where he encounters a government operation monitoring the volcanic status of Yellowstone.

Well to make a long story short he goes on a quest to save himself and his family and ultimately saves hundreds in addition to his own family.

Pros of this movie is the CGI special effects were astounding. The death and destruction was amazing and beautiful. The story was definitely a step up from "Day After Tomorrow" and "The Core"

The downside of the movie is it was all too predictable as well as very scientifically unsound. In the movie when Yellwstone blows all it does is throw a massive dust cloud when in reality the scientific fact is the sky will be blackened for months and all plant life will die off. There will be no survivasl period. it will be like a nuclear winter.

Well anyways i kinda expected it to be un-scientific and over the top but its still a great fun action movie.

Scarlett Johansson on Iron Man 2

Thursday, August 20, 2009 10:00 AM | From CanMag.Com
If Scarlett Johansson didn’t get much credit for action heroics in The Island, The Perfect Score or Eight Legged Freaks, her superheroine turn in Iron Man 2 certainly won’t be ignored. She will play Black Widow, and her alter ego Natasha Romanoff, from the Marvel comics.

Robert Downey Jr. is Iron Man 2
“I think that the character is sort of a shape shifter,” Johansson said. “It was sort of like playing two different characters. One character is more kind of mysterious, I don’t want to say submissive, but she’s blending in with the crowd I suppose. The other part of this character is someone who is assertive and knows their sh*t. She’s able to just say, ‘I’m going to fight this head on.’ For me, being able to have that kind of feeling, being able to be competent enough to sell it, that this is somebody who is going to kick some ass and don’t for a second doubt that she’s going to follow through with the punch. It was a challenge for me but Jon [Favreau] was incredible. He really supported me with this. “

Johnasson brushed up on her comic books when she got the part. Originally, she just wanted to join the team. Read Article

Spidey 4 script coming

Wednesday, April 1, 2009 2:42 AM | From Joblo.Com

Although we may have forgotten,... Read More... Read Article
