Fred Enjoys Walking on The Road

Tuesday, November 24, 2009 11:40 PM | From CanMag.Com
Finally, one of the latest Hollywood trends is something I’m into. I’ve explored the recurrent vampire crazes and torture porn and westerns and musicals, gotten what I could out of those. The one I’m really into is the post-apocalyptic survival. I could watch my favorite stars gather supplies all day long.

Review: The Road
The Road has some beautiful wreckage along the way, striking shots of burnt out forests and some boats beached on a highway! You can definitely tell the world has been spent when these folks are slugging along.

The supplies are not as plentiful as perhaps in movies like I Am Legend where he still had half of New York to go through, or Dawn of the Dead where they had a whole shopping mall. Yet the little treasures are delightful. By the time they get a new cart, awww man, that’s the stuff. Read Article

New The Road Poster Gives Praise

Tuesday, November 24, 2009 2:52 PM | From CanMag.Com
The first reviews I remember reading for The Road were not exactly positive. To be honest, they were far from. But it would seem that Peter Travers of Rolling Stone really liked the film, and gave it praise worthy enough of its own poster.

The Road One-Sheet
The Road carries the first of the shared humanity and lets it burn bright and true. Viggo Mortensen is astounding! Robert Duvall is superb and Charlize Theron captures the power of Cormac McCarthy's words. A triumph!

As you can see, the poster's a win-win. Not only does it showcase the praise laid down upon the film, but it also looks fantastic. Read Article

Monday, November 23, 2009 9:48 PM | From Collider
The Weinstein Company has released a new poster for The Road and A Single Man.  While I liked the previous poster for The Road, I understand using a huge quote saying how great the movie is as a way to help sell the movie. However, the new poster for A Single Man is just perfect.  Just [...] Read Article

Watch This: The Making of The Road New Extended Featurette

Monday, November 23, 2009 2:36 AM | From FirstShowing.net
Late last week, this 11-minute behind-the-scenes featurette for The Road appeared on Apple. I wanted to feature it because it's a great video, but it's quite excruciatingly long, especially to watch online (and not in the Special Features on the DVD). For those that have been waiting anxiously to see this movie, it finally hits theaters this week. I've got an interview with the director, John Hillcoat, that I'll be running in a few days. There's a lot of footage and, to be honest, a lot of spoilers in this, so tread carefully. And I suggest everyone watch it on Apple, it's much better quality, but enjoy it either way and don't forget to see The Road, too! Watch the behind-the-scenes featurette for John Hillcoat's The Road: You can also watch this new featurette for The Road in High Definition on Apple A post-apocalyptic tale of a man (Viggo Mortensen) and his son ... New Up in the Air Clip: We Dont Really Have That Kind of Relationship

Thursday, November 19, 2009 5:52 PM | From /Film
Paramount Pictures has released a new clip from Jason Reitman's Up in the Air. The clip features the lovely Anna Kendrick as Natalie, a young college graduate questioning George Clooney's character Ryan Bingham, who she is stuck on the road with, about why he chooses to have more casual relationships than relationships of substance. There is also a lot more going on in the clip, such as Clooney snapping a photo of a cardboard cutout of a couple in love (and yes, that is Danny McBride...), but you don't really need to understand whats he's doing to enjoy the clip. As I've stated before on the site, this is one of my favorite films of the year. This clip alone probably won't be enough to convince you to buy a ticket, but please, take my word for it. The clip is embedded after the jump. Read Article

New Trailer for The Road Once Again Fails

Friday, October 30, 2009 6:21 PM | From Worst Previews
They just can't get the trailer for Viggo Mortensen's "The Road" right. The first trailer looked like "The Day After Tomorrow," this new one seems like a standard drama. The problem may be that the majority of disturbing scenes involve the kid (Kodi Smit-McPhee) and The Weinstein Company is not about to freak people out or give away any of the twists of the movie.
