Ginnifer and Chloe Join the Jessicas at a Prada Party

Monday, November 16, 2009 10:00 AM | From POPSUGAR

The Prada store in LA was packed on Friday night with starlets celebrating the launch of the label's new book. Jessicas Biel and Alba kept things simple in black, as did mom-to-be Camila Alves. Christina Ricci took a break from her bikini fun with her new boyfriend to get decked out in a bejeweled white number. Chloe Sevigny, meanwhile, sported a bra-bearing look to pose for photos with pal Liz Goldwyn and Big Love costar Ginnifer Goodwin. Rachel Zoe added a little color to the proceedings with her husband Rodger. The Prada party was a prelude to the even more star-studded bash at LA's Museum of Contemporary Art on Saturday, and it looks like the ladies got a head start on their fashionable partying.

Free Flick of the Day: The Last Days of Disco

Wednesday, November 11, 2009 10:12 PM | From Cinematical
Whit Stillman hasn't made a lot of films. In fact, there are only three: Metropolitan, Barcelona, and The Last Days of Disco. All filmed in the '90s, his trio of movies morphed from upper-class teen Manhattanites, to heading out into the international working world, and finally to a look into the end of disco. Unfortunately, the last was sadly overlooked because another big disco fest hit the big screen -- 54 -- which may have been terrible, but with the likes of Mike Myers and a big-name cast, it was the flick in the spotlight.

Nestled in the shadows was The Last Days of Disco, starring Chloe Sevigny and Kate Beckinsale as two young book editors who fill their nights with dance and banter while looking for romance. Each night, as they head to the club, they come across a myriad of faces, from the Stillman pro Chris Eigeman, to the likes of Mackenzie Astin, Matt Keeslar, Robert Sean Leonard, Jennifer Beals, Burr Steers (recently directed 17 Again), and even Drew's mom, Jaid Barrymore. They gossip, discuss intellectual pursuits, analyze Lady and the Tramp, and even purr over the sexiness of Scrooge McDuck -- all to a classic disco soundtrack.

If you love satire, and a mixture of surreality intermingled with spot-on dialogue (think intellectualism on the back-drop of all-out glam), you've got to check it out. Best of all, should you adore watching this for free, you can then pick up the new Criterion on sale at Barnes & Noble, where they're having their wicked 50% off sale again.

The Ten Spot 2/2 - Blowjobs

Wednesday, November 4, 2009 7:09 AM | From Joblo.Com
10 Awkward Movie Blow-Jobs I imagine all mainstream movie blow-jobs are awkward in one way or another, unless you're Chloe Sevigny. Something tells me there isn't an acting class for pretending to have a dick in your mouth while bobbing up and down in front of a flesh colored banana hammock. And what if there's an erection involved? How does everybody in the room ignore that? It makes for good cinema though, and... Read More... Read Article

John, Jason and Judd Are STARS and Studs in the Night

Tuesday, October 27, 2009 2:56 PM | From POPSUGAR

John Mayer proved to be the main attraction at last night's STARS benefit gala in LA. He cracked a few jokes from the podium, before whipping out his guitar to perform some of his new music that you guys are loving. He was rolling solo for the evening, despite the recent rumors about his romancing Rashida Jones that her publicist denied and of course the ongoing Jennifer Aniston reports. Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann were the evening's honorees, and funny guys like Jason Segel and Seth Rogen came out to toast the duo. There doesn't seem to be much news about Jason's apparent romance with Chloe Sevigny, but his How I Met Your Mother costar Josh Radnor is about to see some on-screen developments with special guest star Rachel Bilson.

More photos of the STARS 2009 gala so read more.

THE KILLING ROOM (DVD Review)

Thursday, October 15, 2009 11:56 PM | From Fangoria
Order the DVD!For $250, four strangers agree to participate in a psychological experiment where they must spend eight hours locked in a room together.  Sound like easy money?  Think again.

THE KILLING ROOM is a fast-paced psychological thriller that couldve easily fallen into the cliché category but doesnt.  After a brief introduction of the subjects, the tone immediately shifts with a shocking scene that grabbed my attention and kept me hooked in till the end.

But unfortunately this isnt a film meant to be enjoyed a second time as once the motives of the experiment are revealed, there isnt much else to keep this interesting.  What kept me watching (other than that I promised to review it) was waiting for the big reveal, and while THE KILLING ROOM couldve ended in a dozen different ways, the final act doesnt disappoint.  In fact, the more I think about the ending, the more I realize how sick and twisted it was.

THE KILLING ROOM shares a similar plot device to films like SAW and CUBE only in this film, there are no traps, no puzzles, and no dismemberments.  Without those fun elements, all thats left to keep your finger off the fast forward button are the characters and how they deal with the severity of the situation.  This is where THE KILLING ROOM suffers the most.  The characters arent given any back story and have limited interactions with one other. (Nick Cannon may or may not have done a decent acting job, but I couldnt stop thinking about the awful fake eyebrow ring hanging off his face) Much of the runtime is spent behind-the-scenes with the people running the experiment and while Chloë Sevigny and Peter Stormare play a decent game of cat and mouse as the ones in charge, we learn little about them as well.

These faults aside, THE KILLING ROOM is surprisingly intriguing and if you do come across it, its worth your ninety minutes.
