The first reviews I remember reading for The Road were not exactly positive. To be honest, they were far from. But it would seem that Peter Travers of Rolling Stone really liked the film, and gave it praise worthy enough of its own poster.
The Road One-Sheet
The Road carries the first of the shared humanity and lets it burn bright and true. Viggo Mortensen is astounding! Robert Duvall is superb and Charlize Theron captures the power of Cormac McCarthy's words. A triumph!
As you can see, the poster's a win-win. Not only does it showcase the praise laid down upon the film, but it also looks fantastic.
BURN NOTICEs Matt Nix Has Found His JACK AND DAN in Colin Hanks and Bradley Whitford
Wednesday, November 4, 2009 12:24 AM | From Collider
In the past several months, I’ve lost interest in television. Even shows I really like aren’t appointment viewing anymore with DVR, online downloads, and streaming content. But I refuse to miss a single episode of Matt Nix’s “Burn Notice” which, for me, has redefined my notions of the spy genre far more than the Bourne [...]
George Clooney May Be Joining Alexander Paynes The Descendants
I'm currently feeling a bit overloaded on George Clooney, what with his upcoming roles in The Men Who Stare at Goats, Up in the Air, and Fantastic Mr. Fox. After not seeing him on the big screen since Burn After Reading, it now feels like we're facing an onslaught on Clooney projects. Now, we may be able to add yet another one to the mix. Clooney is apparently eying the lead in Alexander Payne's upcoming Hawaii-based family dramedy, The Descendants, which is based on the novel of the same name by Kaui Hart Hemmings.
As we've reported previously, the novel concerns besieged and wryly introspective attorney Matt King, the land-rich descendant of Hawaiian royalty and American missionaries and entrepreneurs. He wrestles with the decision of whether to keep his swath of valuable inherited land or sell it to a real estate developer. But even more critical, Matt also has to decide ...
Combined with “No Country for Old Men” and “Burn After Reading”, The Coen Brothers’ latest movie, “A Serious Man” could complete an unofficial “Existentialist Trilogy”. “No Country” says that the world is an uncertain and unforgiving place. “Burn After Reading” says the same thing but the idea is played for laughs instead of drama. “A [...]

Bradley Whitford has been tapped to star in Jack and Dan, Matt Nix’s new 13-episode series for Fox. The show was created by the Burn Notice creator. Let the Right One In Lets in Three
Friday, October 2, 2009 5:56 AM | From Latino Review
The Let the Right One In remake is going forward and to prove it, director/writer Matt Reeves has added three actors to the cast.
Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Road) will star as Owen, a bullied boy who meets both the object of his affections and the tool for his revenge in Abby, a vampire girl. Abby will played by Chloe Moretz (Kick Ass) and Richard Jenkins (Burn After Reading) will portray her adult ward who is named Hakan in the original film.
Released in 2008, Let the Right One In was a Swedish horror film adapted from John Ajvide Lindqvist's novel of the same name. Reeves who leads the remake, is has written his own adaptation for the film reportedly setting it in Colorado during the Reagan era.
Principal photography is scheduled to begin in New Mexico this autumn with a 2010 release date planned.

Brad Fuller Talks the Newest Nightmare
Thursday, October 1, 2009 10:56 PM | From Dread Central
By now we've all seen the Platinum Dunes trailer for the unnecessary A Nightmare on Elm Street remake. Now everyone's favorite producer, Brad Fuller, is sounding off about the response, Freddy's look and more. Keep reading if you dare!
Fuller had lots to say on the subject of Freddy via the Platinum Dunes Blog and, unfortunately, I don't like a word of it.
The film will definitely wear an R rating, and Jackie Earle Haley is still working on perfecting his voice based on research done on burn victims. One the look of the character, Fuller said: "We are continuing to refine Freddy's look. Many people commented about the CGI on his face - and I don't want to give everything away but I will say this - Freddy's face is 98% practical make-up. Moreover, as you now know we went hardcore on what a burn victim really looks like, and I can't imagine what the comments would have been if he DIDN'T look like a real burn victim."
Today in Amazon's Gold Box Deal of the Day, is Burn Notice Season 1 & 2 on DVD for $39.99, 60% off the $59 suggested retail price. I've never seen the show, but have heard a lot of good things surrounding Bruce Campbell's involvement.

Details on whether he’ll be a client or a nemesis of Michael Westen, played by Jeffrey Donovan, has yet to be disclosed.
