Paramount held a red carpet event for the DVD/Blu-Ray release of Star Trek on the 17th at the famous Griffith Observatory. It was a star studded event, but as with all red carpets, sometimes you get quite a few minutes with the stars, other times you get a minute before the publicist is sticking a knife in your shoulder telling you the star has to move on.Despite the limited time with some celebrities, I got a lot of good info on some of their upcoming projects. Oh, sure. We talked about the DVD a little bit and the special features, but we also got some info on the sequel and weighing the pros and cons of an appearance by Khan as the villain. Also got to talk to the creature designer for Star Trek Neville Page, who is also working on Tron: Legacy, Avatar and Green Lantern. Producer/Writer Damon Lindelof discussed the last season of Lost and his opinion on Khan as a potential villain for the sequel. Leonard Nimoy talked about Fringe and how Trek is done with him. Zoe Saldana discussed her role in The Losers. Karn Urban talked about his character in Priest and what we can expect from that. Bruce Greenwood can't talk while chewing gum. Roberto Orci on the pros and cons of Khan being in the sequel. Young Spock is a tool and Young Kirk talked about his deleted scene that you can watch on the DVD, plus a lot more. So sit back and watch all of the interviews. Some are short, some are long. It's the nature of the red carpet beast.
