Tuesday, November 17, 2009 9:04 AM | From Screen Rant
The mega-successful and critically acclaimed Dark Knight had hardly hit theaters last year and already there was high anticipation (at least in the geek/online movie circles) for Batman 3. We have heard rumor after rumor after rumor about the third installment, including everything from Christopher Nolan not returning to Eddie Murphy playing The Riddler (I [...]

Gary Oldman revealed during Comic-Con that the third "Batman" movie will begin filming in 2010. Michael Caine, however, recently made a statement that fans won't see the new film for quite a while, if ever.
Dane Cook Would Like To Taunt Batman With Riddles
Monday, November 16, 2009 8:12 PM | From Latino Review
NO NO NO NO NO."I love the new Dark Knight series and 'Batman Begins,'" Cook told MTV News when asked if there were any comic book movie characters he has his eye on. "If they brought back The Riddlera new Riddler the way they did with The Jokerthat would be bad-ass. I would do that." Ahem. How would he play it? Why, by ripping off Heath Ledger of course."When they were making the new one and they were doing The Joker, I always thought it [should be] kind of like 'The Crow'having that dark element but still comedic," said Cook of the type of Riddler he'd like to bring to the franchise. "It would probably have to be something in that vein, even though I think what Heath Ledger did with the Joker was the greatest comic book villain ever."The good thing is, we have nothing to worry about. I think everyone agrees that this is a bad idea, on so many levels. CUT TO: Me climbing a stool with a noose around my neck as the trailer to "Batman 3" plays on repeat in the background featuring a green-clad Dane Cook gyrating wildly while making everyday observations aimed at college kids.

I dunno, I guess maybe MTV asked its readers who they thought should play the Riddler if - IF - that's the villain in the third Christopher Nolan Batman movie, and on the heels of that, Dane Cook does my least favorite thing in the world: He offers his services for a coveted role during the course of an interview.
"I love the new Dark Knight series and Batman Begins," Cook told MTV. "If they brought back The Riddlera new Riddler the way they did with The Jokerthat would be bad-ass. I would do that." Well that's good, because I'm sure the reason the third movie hasn't moved forward yet is because Nolan wanted to hold out for the star of Good Luck Chuck and My Best Friend's Girl.
Rising to prominence in the street art scene throughout the early aughts and now bustling inside the mainstream with shoe deals and bewildered news reports, the California artist known as Neckface is a fascinating subject. For one, much of his art was and remains illegal via the defacing of billboards and buildings with "Neckface" spray-painted in a signature, Satan-evoking scrawl.
And, as with the Batman Begins billboard below, which he famously altered to become "Neckface Begins!," his tags tend to punctuate graffiti featuring decrepit, bat-like demons and bloodied, diseased derelicts. A new, all-access documentary on Neckface---who remains largely anonymous---is currently rolling from director Ty Evans, the co-director along with Spike Jonze of the skate vid Yeah Right! We've got the doc's first trailer after the jump, plus NF's new, gallery-approved take on Predator. His fresh take on Freddy Krueger hovers above.

David Goyer on Ghost Rider 2 Story
Thursday, November 5, 2009 5:36 AM | From Worst Previews
MTV News caught up with screenwriter David Goyer (Batman Begins), whose old "Ghost Rider" script will be used for the upcoming sequel, to find out how the new film will be different from the first.
In 1994, "Alien" concept designer HR Giger was hired to design a new Batmobile for "Batman Forever," that saw Val Kilmer don the Batsuit to battle The Riddler (Jim Carrey) and Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones).
What IF Willem Dafoe Had Been Batman
Thursday, October 29, 2009 8:07 AM | From Latino Review
I just came across something that would have made for a very different "Batman" movie back in 1989: According to the actor himself, none other than Willem Dafoe was approached to be the Bat for Tim Burton."Very early, they talked to me about playing Batman," Dafoe told MTV News."I hate to spread these things because unless you remember it well, you're stoking the fires of bulls---," said the actor. "But I remember [it]. I've had my brush with these things."Man, I love Dafoe and all, but I cannot see him as Batman. He would've have made a good Joker, yes...an even better, more menacing Joker than Nicholson's take at the time, but he doesn't exactly have suave, good-looking billionaire going for him. Not that Michael Keaton was a good Bruce Wayne either, but that has as much to do with the way the character was written back then as with Keaton's appearance and portrayal. You know what else is funny? I can name you at least three people who I think would've been a better Batman/Bruce Wayne circa 1988 or whenever Keaton was cast (Mel Gibson, Kurt Russel, Jason Patric) but I couldn't name you one other actor working right now who I think would be better than Christian Bale. That's just perfect casting right there. What do you guys think?Source: MTV
Willem Dafoe's (Spider-Man) IMDB page says that the actor was once considered to play The Joker in Tim Burton's 1989 "Batman" film. To get the facts, MTV News sat down with Dafoe and asked him if there is any truth to that.
