Trailer for the short documentary Between the Upper Lip and Nasal Passageway: A Modern Account of the Moustache, which screens at the Columbia Gorge International Film Festival.
It seems that anymore the moustache does not enjoy the popularity, nor the respect it did in the past: the moustache has been relegated to the likes of sex-offenders, hillbillies, truckers, and ridiculous caricatures like Ron Burgundy. Yet despite all this there is still inherent dignity in a moustache. The purpose of Between the Upper Lip and Nasal Passageway is to give short but honest glimpses of the moustache in modern society. From old-wives tales, to dancing fancy-men, to the Mexican culture where the roots of a moustache stretch back for generations. It's mysterious, it's solitary, and, even if it's funny, it's not a joke.
