Shia LaBeouf Gets Into Shouting Match Against White Supremacist At Rally

No one would dispute the idea of a divided country coming together in unity. But the means by which you push this message of togetherness is quite something altogether. Especially when people begin to yell and scream at each other. Shia LaBeouf is not a man immune to grabbing the headlines, mostly for wrong or obscure reasons. Yet the 30-year old has taken his unusual public displays to a new level this week following on from his protest titled 'He Will Not Divide Us.'

The Man Down, American Honey and Transformers actor was live streaming his stance alongside his fellow protestors in Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner.

And, while it was progressing normally, a few Trump fans and white nationalists decided to crash the scene and intervene. Rather than passively allow them to do so, LaBeouf shouted as loud as he could in the man's ear: "He will not divide us!"

Shia Hoping To Start A New Movement

In the wake of the Women's March that saw millions around the globe come out in support against the new president, LaBeouf's creation that was born as of January 20, 2017 has been used as a means of tapping into that universal anger. His official website details what they are all about and what they are looking to promote.

“Commencing at 9am on January 20, 2017, the day of the inauguration of the 45th President of the United States, the public is invited to deliver the words 'HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US' into a camera mounted on a wall outside the Museum of the Moving Image, New York, repeating the phrase as many times, and for as long as they wish.”

If you thought this was a one day special, think again. They are planning to be here for the duration of Donald Trump's term in office that ends as of 2021. The actor has made the scene part of an art exhibition where protestors can voice their opinions and this latest viral video will go some way to gaining extra publicity for his movement.

“Open to all, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the participatory performance will be live-streamed continuously for four years, or the duration of the presidency. In this way, the mantra 'HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US' acts as a show of resistance or insistence, opposition or optimism, guided by the spirit of each individual participant and the community.”
