The Predator Adds Game of Thrones and Dexter Stars To Cast

This week was the first time cameras were actually rolling for The Predator. A 2018 installment that has been a long time in the making until work got underway on Monday. Shane Black was hard at work with his crew in Vancouver, as it was officially announced the project has beefed up their cast with a couple of notable inclusions.

20th Century Fox already splashed the cast with the likes of Logan star Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key and Jacob Tremblay. Those six posed for a fresh photo from the director online, but there is plenty more to come. Showing that the creator is looking to expand on that talented half-dozen.

Aussie Yvonne Scores Big Break

Yvonne

She might have made waves with her 17-episode run in the hit television series Dexter, but for 34-year old Yvonne Strahovski this opportunity counts as a big break. The Australian actress made her mark domestically until becoming a regular on the NBC show Chuck, playing a part in all 91 episodes in the role of CIA Agent Sarah Walker.

But playing a part in the huge ensemble blockbuster like The Predator is a completely different dynamic. Strahovski is said to play Tremblay's mother, as she becomes more involved in the story as the youngster is dragged into the conflict with the killer by her ex-husband, played by Narcos star Holbrook.

An extra surprise in the casting news for the picture came in the form of 48-year old Thomas Jane. The film and television veteran is arguably best known for his role in the Marvel installment The Punisher. And now he aims to bring his action chops to the big stage once more.

Theon Greyjoy Links Up To Hunt Down The Predator

Alfie Allen Game of Thrones

One of the most derided and maligned characters in the HBO smash hit Game of Thrones is without doubt Alfie Allen's Theon Greyjoy. The 30-year old Englishman has been a mainstay on the program. While his character suffers from an affliction nobody would wish on their worst enemy, transitioning from one struggle to the next.

Now he will play an ex-Marine looking to help Holbrook, Brown, Key and co. to hunt down The Predator. And where will this hunting take place? Turns out this Predator is roaming free in suburbia. Outside of the casting news, there are next to no plot details released for the reboot. While the cast and crew attempt to emulate the success of the 1987 original, the story sounds more like the failed sequel.

The Predator will open February 9, 2018 in the US in regular format and IMAX.
