Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Reboot Nasty Women Casts Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson

Another week in Hollywood, another rebooted classic from another era. This time MGM have cast Pitch Perfect's own Rebel Wilson with Academy Award winning 34-year old actress Anne Hathaway for a remake of the 1988 comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. But this will come with a new title, Nasty Women.

With screenwriter Jac Schaeffer penning the story, Australian Wilson will also happen to be a producer alongside Roger Birnbaum whose recent credits include the 2010 comedy Dinner for Schmucks, the Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman rom-com No Strings Attached and the 2011 reboot of another classic via Footloose. Still in production mode for Pitch Perfect 3 with co-star Anna Kendrick, the 36-year old continues to keep herself busy with recent projects like Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie, the Sacha Baron Cohen comedy Grimsby and How to Be Single.

Original Picture Will Be Hard To Top

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

Times have changed a long way from 1988 when Freddy Benson (Steve Martin) and Lawrence Jamieson (Michael Caine) were pulling the long con game in Frank Oz's highly successful original. Taking home over $42m at the box office for this slapstick feature that won over audiences and critics universally, the combination of the quirky and off-beat talents of Martin meshed well with the smooth and sophisticated Caine. Who played off each other perfectly.

Hathaway and Wilson naturally contrast each other on a number of fronts and the rough outline for the synopsis so far indicates that the two women from different walks of life come together to con a tech prodigy for all he or she is worth. Further casting and release details will emerge in the coming weeks and months.

Another Cameo Confirmed For Ocean's Eight

Olivia Munn

The other all female reboot in the works for Hathaway via Ocean's Eight continues to pile on the celebrities by the second. This time confirming X-Men: Apocalypse star Olivia Munn into the fold. The 36-year old partner to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was spotted out and about in New York City this week for the production of the movie that will see the likes of Katie Holmes, Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner make an appearance as themselves.

Kitted out in a bright yellow dress and black coat, Munn dropped a bombshell of herself to post a picture with disgraced tennis star Maria Sharapova. Eating some goodies with her new A-list friend, Munn explained under the post on Instagram, "Filming a little late night cameo w @mariasharapova & she brought her own candy! She has her own candy line!!! #Goals."
