Brad Pitt Contemplated Cable Offer for Deadpool 2

20th Century Fox are wanting to get their casting just right for Cable on Deadpool 2. The back and forth over negotiations has lasted months as the bad ass time traveler is linked with everyone from Kyle Chandler to Pierce Brosnan, Russell Crowe and now the the 53-year old veteran Fight Club star.

It turns out that Pitt carefully looked over the source material. So the rumor that the actor was being sought wasn't a rumor at all. And he appeared to be on the same page with the people from Fox and the main players themselves in writers Paul Wernick, Rhett Reese, director David Leitch and the protagonist Ryan Reynolds. As the sequel World War Z 2 has been in flux at Paramount, the icon is believed to have backed away citing a scheduling issue.

Things In This Business Can Change At The Drop of a Hat

Adam Chitwood from Collider, Pitt is not going to be exploring the part in any further detail. Yet that could be flipped on it's head should his zombie follow up fall flat. A scenario that could easily come to fruition.

"Sources tell us that in casting Cable, Brad Pitt was eyed to take on the role and there was interest on both sides. As of right now he’s moved on, but since this role is very much in flux there’s the possibility that things could change. The actor may soon have his hands full producing and starring in World War Z 2 if that gets a green light from Paramount, but this would have been a massive casting coup for the superhero follow up."

Fan art has since emerged with Man of Steel star Michael Shannon in the role. The 42-year old is considered one of the best in his craft to portray a slightly unhinged, unnerving and unpredictable character. All assets that the filmmakers would love to utilize for Cable.

Busy Beetz The Only One That Can Keep Up With Rapid Ryan

Zazie Beetz for Domino

Domino might not have lingered as long as Cable to cast, but it was a fair process until Zazie Beetz landed the sidekick. Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld told Cinemablend that the deliberation ensued because it was difficult to source an actress who could match Reynolds' wit. Arguing that Beetz will give him a run for his money on set.

"I'm telling you, having been around Ryan multiple times that mouth cannot be stopped," said Liefeld. "I don't think he can say the jokes as fast as they are backed up in his head. So, you need... some of these people be like 'oh hey, this girl should have been Domino, and pick out actress a through z' and I'd be like 'I'm not sure that they can keep up with him' and oh my gosh, I'm not sure that Ryan's gonna keep up with her (Beetz)... That chemistry is going to be spectacular. And that's what it comes down to is the chemistry with these characters."
