Boyd Holbrook Talks Arnold Schwarzenegger Predator Cameo, Offers Logan Spoilers

35-year old Boyd Holbrook is established as one of the best supporting players in the business. From his part in Gone Girl to the hit television series Narcos, the performer has solidified himself in the industry.

On the cusp of starring in the Marvel extravaganza that is Logan, an epic that has all the hallmarks of a masterpiece for the action franchise, Holbrook managed to score himself a leading role in Shane Black's reboot of The Predator. As Benicio Del Toro turned down the position, the void was ably filled by the actor in his place.

3 Genres Meshed Into One

The Predator

Speaking with We Got This Covered to promote the superhero installment, Holbrook gave more detail to the upcoming project that has a lot of people talking.

“I’m currently working on (The) Predator," explained the actor. "It’s not a sequel; Shane Black has made something totally new, somehow keeping within the realm of Predator (while also being) absolutely new in terms of the story that we’re talking about today, and rooted in something real. It’s real fresh."

With his role on NBC's The New Celebrity Apprentice among other commitments, does Holbrook believe that a return for the original star will come to fruition? Don't count on it.

"I don’t think you’re going to see (Arnold) Schwarzenegger. It would kind of make it a gimmick. It’s horror, science-fiction and a western.”

Method To Donald's Madness

Playing the bionic-handed Donald Pierce as leader of the vicious and unrelenting Reavers seems to be a custom fit for Holbrook. As he told Cinemablend that the character is only doing what was required of him in tracking down X-23 so aggressively.

"It's an asset," Holbrook said. "It's a value. As much as I might admire and might have designed X-23 off of Logan, she is my property and I need that back because my job is at risk, finances is at risk, the health and well-being of a lot of people which is why I made this thing in the first place, so that's why I need it back."

With tongue firmly in cheek, the actor was quizzed as to how James Mangold and the production team managed to fit a bionic arm on him for shooting.

"I chopped my arm off," he remarked. "I just used a swiss army blade. It took a while and then I iced it and they just put on a glove armature and then after the filming I went back into surgery and they sewed back on."
