2 Logan Updates Straight Out of Twitter

To kick off the weekend, Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, and director James Mangold teamed up to deliver a double-threat of updates for Logan. Taking to Twitter, the pair have not only given us what they are calling the "official synopsis" for the film, but a taste of the music.

And, if you were thinking the synopsis might actually tell us something about the film, let's just say you'd have better luck with the music.

The Logan Synopsis Is

Hugh Jackman used his official Twitter page to post the official synopsis for Logan. While typically a synopsis on a pretty mysterious film is cool, we could have written this one ourselves.

Logan

In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan's attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

So pretty much everything we saw in the trailer, save for now we know he's hanging out near the Mexican border. Sweet, but let's assume another synopsis arrives before the film's theatrical release. Or maybe even the next trailer.

Logan Score Sample

To start, I'm a big fan of composer Marco Beltrami. I've actually spent some of last week coding to his score for 3:10 to Yuma. So good! Great movie too. But I digress...

James Mangold decided to video tape part of a recording session with Beltrami for Logan. As you might have guessed, the film is dark and ominous. Listen to a sample of the track below.

So why a sample now? It could be that Mangold is trying to assure audiences that the film's score is in good hands. Especially since Cliff Martinez silently departed the production only a couple weeks back. The only question is whether Martinez had a chance to score any music for the film, and whether that music will still make it to the final cut.
