Trailer for the documentary 50 Days in the Desert, which screened at PSIFF.
Docu follows the drama-filled, seven-week shoot of title The White Knights in Morocco to document the creative process of its director, cast and crew.
Rather than simply offering a glossy, publicity-ready peek behind the scenes, the film records the arduous, week-by-week process of collaborative creation on set, offering unrivaled insight into what a filmmaker faces when trying to realize his vision of an extremely ambitious project, how he struggles to handle unexpected setbacks and on-set egos and how the actors and technicians deal with the occasionally rather unusual methods of their director. A film that offers the possibility to be as close as possible to the painful but also insightful and exciting birth of a large-scale feature without having to camp out in the Sahara for weeks.
